How to measure how many gallons are in an oval pool
If you have a round or oval pool, you’ll need to use a slightly different formula. First, measure the diameter of the pool at its widest point. Then, multiply that number by itself and divide it by 4. Finally, multiply that number by 3.14 (pi) and again by the depth of your pool. This will give you the approximate volume of your pool in gallons. For example, if your round pool has a diameter of 12 feet and is 4 feet deep, it would hold approximately 1120 gallons (12 x 12 / 4 x 3.14 x 4).
Keep in mind that these formulas are estimates only – actual volumes may vary slightly due to irregularities in pool shape or size. Also remember that pools typically lose some water through evaporation each day, so you’ll need to add fresh water periodically to maintain proper levels.
